Responsibilities

· High level of guest service in constantly maintained and in line with department Procedures

· Ensure that our guests receive a fast, efficient and friendly check-in and checkout

· Ensure that all customer queries or requests are handled in a polite and efficient manner

· Portray a “Yes I can” attitude at all times

· Be proactive in solving guest issues, take ownership and use empowerment guidelines

· Maintain a positive attitude at all times with both the guests and the team

· Coach and counsel the receptionists to ensure a quality operation

· Handle overnight room service in the absence of receptionist

· Be fully conversant with all health and safety procedures

 

Key requirements

· Knowledge of Opera PMS Systems

· Experience in a similar environment and team supervision

· Eager to learn

· Flexible with a 12-hour overnight working shift pattern requirement

About the job

· Be fully trained with all menu items, presentation, accompaniments.

· Respond promptly to the service needs of the guest

· Good knowledge of the reservations system

· Adapt communication to suit the need of the guest

· All guests are greeted and helped in a polite and friendly manner.

· Awareness of guests on arrival

· Polish all silver and glasses

· Adhere to the weekly cleaning rota

· Collect all food items on trays and keep the service pantry clear at all the times

· Keep the kitchen informed with what required

· Assist the service of bread, coffee

· Maintain good communication with supervisor for any problems

· Keep noise level to a minimum

· Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, Supervisors and Managers

· Assist new colleagues in becoming familiar with the workplace

· Do not blame others, act and lead by example.

· Control all emotions and channel anger to a positive cause

· Never use offensive language

· Attend all meeting or training sessions when required

· Attend daily briefings before each service

· Attend appraisals when required

· Minimize safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures

· Attends work on time as schedules

· Follows all policies and procedures regarding disciplinary, absence

 

About you

· Proven experience as a Host / Hostess

· Excellent level of English

· Friendly, approachable, and professional

· Able to work as part of a team

· Excellent customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all customers in a highly professional manner, ensuring all reservations are completed accurately and to the guest’s expectation.
  • Answer all incoming calls promptly, in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • Up sell to higher room types and recommend add on products and services wherever possible.
  • Book and block bedrooms using hotel standards.
  • Follow up all tentative and prospect business and ensure guarantee and/or release deadlines are always met.

 

Key requirements

  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Adaptability and ability to find solutions to different problems.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Opera PMS
  • Previous experience as a receptionist or reservation agent in a hotel environment
